Complications Arrise in the Bot-Mechanics

Well, it has been a little while since I have posted, but that is only because I have been hard at work, engaging with my build team and our mentors, heavily discussing the designs and flaws with designs for our robot to come–the dear and sweet “Daisy”. We, the build team [and David], have built, so far, an acuating claw and part of our lift, which will [hopefully] reach most of the spider legs on the octagon for the field. Our complications, not so much with the claw, but with the lift consist of weight possibilities, how to motor it and how heavy the chain and sprockets will be, as well as with the overall lifting capabilities of it. Right now it slides fairly easily and with a little more tweaking I’m sure we can get it to near perfection, or at least what our standards perceive perfection as. We are steadily on our way to completing the main aspect of these designs and with a bit more prototyping in our future we should have it finalized soon and start the overall contruction of “Daisy”. This, is what I am eagerly awaiting to begin, as are several other people on the team, especially David. It’s all hard work but when you win either a match, a regional or very often both, the excitement and feeling of pure accomplishment is overwhelming and completely worth all the agonizing hours. It definitely beats any other feeling out there.
