APPEARANCE
Robot branding defines how Team 1538's identity is represented on competition robots. Robots serve as one of the most visible representations of the team and therefore must strictly follow branding standards.
Public Display & Competition
At competitions and public outreach events, robots serve as visible representations of the team. The following elements must always be displayed:
- The team number
- Sponsor logos
- The school name
- The team nickname, when appropriate
Sponsor Logos & Decals
All sponsor logos must be displayed in white. Sponsor decals must be placed on gray smoked polycarbonate. Logos of non-sponsors must never appear on the robot.
Sponsor placement should be clean, balanced, and in alignment with the robot's mechanical layout. The school's name should be prominently featured beneath the team's nickname.
Robot Name
Each season's robot has a name that must be prominently displayed on the robot, use the approved Alien Encounters Solid typeface, and follow the same legibility and contrast rules as other logotypes.
Material Finishes
To maintain a professional appearance, all aluminum parts should be powder coated or anodized. These finishes give the robot consistency and durability. Surface treatments must be approved by team leadership.
Powder Coat
Colors allowed: Gloss Black or Gloss White only. No textures, metallics, or alternate colors.
Anodizing
Must be Black Anodize. Type II (0.00007–0.001") is acceptable for most parts; Type III (>0.001") recommended for parts exposed to wear. All specifications align with MIL-A-8625 military finishing standards.
